About this opportunity:

A busy, fun and friendly livery yard with lots to keep our new apprentice busy and many opportunities to get involved in to support their learning. In a great location with a fun and supportive team there is always something going on both on the yard and out and about.

A great opportunity to join our busy yard and help look after our horses, general yard duties and horse care management with some opportunities to attend shows. We are an incredibly laid back, friendly and supportive team to join and will support our new apprentice in their learning  and help them to follow their dreams within the equine industry.

Duties to include but not limited to;

  • Turning out and bringing in
  • Mucking out
  • Feeding, watering and haying
  • Grooming
  • Clipping and trimming
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the yard at all times
  • Bandaging
  • Tacking up

Desired Skills and Personal Qualities

  • Prior experience with horses, must be show on application.
  • Good time keeping
  • Excellent communication
  • Willingness to learn

  • Initiative

Desired Qualifications

  • GCSE’s Grade C/4 or higher in English and Maths are desired but not essential
  • Applicants MUST not already hold a level 2 or higher in horse care

Future Prospects

  • Advanced apprenticeship or employment within the business if the position should arise.

Training

  • Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
  • The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship.
  • The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and onsite visits throughout the apprenticeship.
  • The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
