Equine Groom Apprentice
(Rawreth Equestrian Centre)

A fantastic opportunity to join the team as an equine groom.

Daily duties including, but not limited to;

• Mucking out
• feeding
• haying
• watering
• sweeping/tidying yard,
• keeping the yard & equipment clean
• catching in & turning out
• grooming & preparing horses for lessons
• assisting with lessons.

With the additional opportunities to be involved with

• backing & training
• all aspects of stud work
• assist at shows

Desired Skills and Qualities

• High attendance and punctuality record
• Keen listener & able to follow instructions
• Enthusiastic to learn about working with horses

Desired Qualifications 

• Applicants must NOT already hold a level 2 or above in Equine.
• GCSE maths and English Grade 4/C or equivalent desired but not essential.

Possible Progression

• Teaching opportunities.
• Opportunity of full time work after the apprenticeship.
• Progression on to level 3 Senior Equine Groom Apprenticeship.

Training Provided

• Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment. The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship.
• The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
• The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
  Training towards BHS Stage Exams and Ride Safe.
