Equine Groom Apprentice
(Team Serenity)

We are looking for a confident, competent equine apprentice who will not be intimidated by big fit sport horses. You don’t need to know it all but be confident handling the horses. Opportunity to ride and compete for the right person.

• Daily duties will include but not limited to;
  Bringing in/turning out
• Mucking out
• Grooming
• Feeding
• Lunging and long reining
• Hacking
• Assisting the farrier, chiro, dentist, vet, saddler etc as needed.

The yard and horses are kept to a high standard. Daily washing and drying of legs and grooming is done to a high standard. Mane
and tail pulling, clipping, blue shampoo and shine spray is used in abundance!
Opportunity for an experienced rider to school, jump and get out competing.
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking apprentice who is eager to learn, lots of time and attention will be taken to your education. Must have a good sense of humour and not take yourself too seriously, we like to have a fun and positive
environment!

Desired skills and qualities

• Previous experience with horses
• Competent rider
• Confident handling sport horses.
• Hardworking
• Good team worker

Desired qualifications

• Applicant must not already hold a level 2 or higher in equine.
• GCSE C/4 or equivalent in maths and English desirable but not essential.

Possible progression

• Possibility to stay on as a full time member of the team if required and complete a level 3 in equine.

Training

• Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment. The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship.
• The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
• The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
