About this opportunity:

We are looking for individuals who have a passion for horticulture and gardening. If you are willing to learn from our experienced team, we want to hear from you! You will need to be willing to work in all weather conditions as this is an outdoor and active role. Here at Contour Landscapes, we strive as a team for knowledge and dedication towards sustainable and biodiverse solutions.

These positions will be working from our Writtle yard and covering our large portfolio of clients in and around London. You’ll be learning grounds maintenance and soft landscaping.

Duties will include but not limited to;

  • Assisting with grounds maintenance
  • Garden design
  • Landscaping services
  • Mowing lawns
  • All aspects of gardening tasks
  • Strimming
  • Hedge cutting
  • Border control
  • Turfing
  • Planting
  • Fencing
  • Weeding/pruning
  • Client Liaison and customer service
  • Maintaining tools

Hours:

7.15 – 4.15 TOTAL 9 HRS A DAY

2 X 15 MIN BREAKS AND 30 MIN LUNCH BREAK

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE’s, or equivalents in maths and English are desired but not essential

Future prospects

  • This position could have the possibility of becoming permanent for the right person.

Training: 

  • Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
  • The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship.
  • The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
  • The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
  • You will also need to achieve Level 3 award in Emergency First Aid at Work and Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance or Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides before undertaking the End Point Assessment.
