Linden Lodge is a family run kennels and cattery established for 30 years & situated just outside Hailsham, East Sussex in the stunning Sussex countryside.
An amazing opportunity to complete an Animal Care Level 2 Apprenticeship. You will learn to be a kennel assistant, with all that entails such as:
Walking dogs
Cleaning accommodation
Dog nutrition (and cats)
Site maintenance, making sure is is hazard free
Working as part of a team that takes animal care very seriously.
It can be a fun job, playing with dogs, stroking and cuddling cats (when they let you!) and being responsible for the care and wellbeing of the animals left in our charge, but it is a hard physical work.
There is a lot of walking and cleaning, so you will need to be very fit and enjoy being outdoors in all kinds of weather.
Smooth running of the kennels and cattery
Hours:
31.5 hours per week
days start at 7.00am ending at 17.30 (3 days one week, 4 days another and will include alternate weekends and some banks holidays.

Qualifications
Maths and English at GCSE level at C and above are desired
Applicants MUST NOT already hold a level 2 or higher in animal care or related subject to be eligible.
Training
Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Animal Care & Welfare Apprenticeship Standard.
The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship
The apprentice will be working to build a portfolio of evidence and will be required to pass a knowledge test and an End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete the apprenticeship.
Things to Consider
Mainly outdoor, working with animals, lots of exercise, and a great deal of fun playing with the dogs and cuddling cats.
This employer location is not near any public transport links so applicants will need to able to get to work independently.
