  • 1) Research the company. – Make sure you know ALL about the employer you are applying for, what their business does and what their ethos is.
  • 2) Predict the job interview questions and prepare answers.  –  Make sure you have some answers ready for basic questions such as “what makes you the perfect applicant” and “why have you applied for this role”
  • 3) Dress suitably – If you’re not sure whether you may be busy with animals after your interview, always ask the employer before hand what the dress code is.
  • 4) Arrive a little early. – It’s ALWAYS better to be very early than a little late!
  • 5) Make a good first impression. – Make sure you are approachable and friendly at all times.
  • 6) Be calm, confident, positive, and focused. – Always tricky when nervous, but try your best to be yourself and take pride in why you have been selected for an interview in the first place!
  • 7) Don’t be modest, sell yourself. – You are there for a reason, don’t under sell yourself, YOU are he best person for this job, but they don’t know this yet, so tell them!
  • 8) Ask plenty of insightful questions. – Always have some questions prepared to avoid silences. Make them relevant to the job role or the progression available within the sector.
