Job Title: Horticulture Trainer (Full Time)

We are looking for a dedicated and motivational HND/Degree graduate who is keen to use their knowledge and skills to develop and support our apprentices and

trainees in achieving their horticulture-based ambitions.

The position may also suit an occupationally competent horticulturalist with extensive experience, who is looking to move to a more home-based work opportunity as

is IT competent.

You will deliver mainly remote, theory-based training using a variety of technology platforms and will include some face-to-face visits to client premises supporting

employers in the delivery of practical skills. You will provide high quality, inspirational training, in conjunction with the learner’s employer and undertake necessary

formative assessment and, if appropriate, you will also be involved in providing internal quality insurance.

Hours: This post is a full-time (Monday-Friday), permanent position, however, fractional positions will be considered.

Location: You will be home based and able to provide appropriate training to a range of business types within the horticultural industry. This position would suit anyone

based in the South/South-East/Home Counties/East Anglia who is prepared to travel, when needed, to undertake face-to-face training sessions at client premises.

Requirements: You will need:

  • Relevant HND/Degree OR Level 3 Qualification in Horticulture with extensive industry experience

  • To be professional and approachable with excellent communication and people skills

  • The ability to support learners with Maths and English skills up to Level 2, with the help of subject specific software

  • Competent computer skills and a willingness to learn to use an e-portfolio as well as the ability to deliver training confidently, via remote communication platforms such as Microsoft Teams/Zoom

  • The means to travel to a rural business premises

    Desirable: 

  • Teaching experience in an FE or HE environment

  • A teaching qualification at Level 3 or above

  • TAQA Level 3 or equivalent and/or assessment experience

  • TAQA Level 4 or equivalent

  • An understanding of work-based learning

  • GCSE’s at Grade C or above in Maths and English

    You will also need the self-discipline to manage your own time and workload and undertake the necessary administration required of the post, to keep the

    company in compliance with relevant legislation.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on qualification and experience, plus travel expenses and pension scheme.

We can provide the opportunity to undertake teaching and/or assessment and/or quality assurance qualifications as part of your CPD if not already held.
