Feel Good Friday!
Today we give a special recognition award to Mark who achieved his horticulture apprenticeship in April at Churchill College
Mark’s training consultant, Linda put him forward for this award for all his hard work. Mark has produced the following statement:
“Passing my apprenticeship has been one of the biggest achievements in my life.
As someone who really struggled through school and came out with no qualifications, I was really coming out my comfort zone to take this on.
At first, I thought it was out of my league but with the encouragement from others and some determination I knew I could get through this.
It hasn’t been easy, I have to admit, but the sense of achievement that I’ve got from this has outweighed any difficulties I’ve had to get through and overcome.
I can honestly say it’s a great feeling to prove the doubters wrong (me probably being the biggest one!!), that I am not stupid, I wasn’t lazy at school, I am capable of achieving great things and it’s never too late to try!”
A huge well done to Mark, a true example of how apprenticeships can be for anyone. We wish you the best of luck in your future career within horticulture!
