The Animal Care & Welfare Manager is an important role within the animal care workplace. They will typically have completed the Animal Care & Welfare Standard L2 or equivelent and have been working in animal care for at least a year.
Building on what has already been previously learned, in this role the Animal Care & Welfare Manager will be overseeing the day to day running of the business ensuring that all routine duties that are essential to the day-to-day welfare of the animals are carried out to the required standard.
This will include:
Monitoring and overseeing the Animal Care Provision
Supervising day to day activities
Delivering preventative care
Be committed to personal development for themselves and their team

Delivery Method
The Animal Care & Welfare Manager Standard is delivered using a blended learning methodology which includes both face to face visits and remote training sessions. The apprenticeship will finish with an End Point Assessment (EPA) assessed by an Independent End-Point Assessor (IEPA). EPA is sector specific and may involve practical assessments, written tests, professional discussions and review of evidence.

18 months with a minimum of 12 months
