About this opportunity:

A family run Garden Centre in Hertfordshire supplying the public with quality plants grown in our nurseries selling at very reasonable prices. They specialise in bedding and patio plants, herbaceous perennials, herbs, climbers, shrubs, alpines and fruit. They also stock trees, conifers, heathers and larger specimen plants sourced from around the country. The garden centre is situated between Radlett and Watford with a customer base in Hertfordshire and North London. We produce the majority of plants in our nurseries that we sell directly to the public. Other plants are carefully sourced and selected from our associate nurseries.

An exciting horticulturalist opportunity offering varied work.

Duties will include but not limited to;

  • GCSE’s, or equivalents in maths and English are desired but not essential.

Future prospects

  • Continued employment after the apprenticeship for the right candidate.

Training: 

  • Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
  • The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship.
  • The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
  • The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
  • You will also need to achieve Level 3 award in Emergency First Aid at Work and Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance or Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides before undertaking the End Point Assessment.

Things to consider

  • Need to be physically fit for working outdoors and lifting products.
  • KEITS Training Services Ltd reserves the right to close the vacancy earlier than the listed closing date should the need arise.
  • The apprentice will be working to build a portfolio of evidence and will be required to pass a knowledge test and an End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete the apprenticeship.
