Animal Care Apprentice
(Walls4Paws exclusive Homeboarding EST and Gables Equestrian)

We are recruiting for a passionate and committed individual to join our team caring for the dogs and horses in our care.

Duties will include, but not limited to;

• Welcoming dogs to the boarding and day care
• Supervising groups of dogs
• Cleaning
• Ensuring a safe environment for the dogs
• Maintaining the welfare of the dogs and horses at all time
•  Dealing with any issues that may arise
• Communicating with customers
• General yard duties
• Mucking out
• Turning out and catching in
• Feeding and watering
• Exercising
• Maintaining grazing and the yard

This is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to join a fun and friendly team in a varied role learning about the care of animals for a future career in the industry.

Desired Qualifications

• Applicants must not already hold a level 2 or higher in animal care.

Future Prospects 

• Opportunity for a level 3 in animal care or employment if a position is available.

Training Provided

• Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
• The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Animal Care Apprenticeship
• The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
• The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
