About this opportunity:

Whether your pup loves to socialise, explore, or relax, Burton Strolls offers the perfect environment for them to feel at home.

Our new apprentice will be overseeing a group of dogs, encouraging positive socialisation. They will be engaging with activities for the dogs alongside general heath and safety duties (including cleaning and sanitising the dog areas) We offer lots of opportunities, additional certificates and natural progression routes.

Duties will included but not limited to;

  • Walking
  • Feeding & providing fresh water for the day care and boarding dogs
  • Keeping bedding, Crates and the dog area clean and tidy
  • Managing dogs and introducing new dogs into the group
  • Reception duties, answering the phone & booking in appointments speaking with clients when they come to pick up and drop of their dogs
  • Keeping the areas tidy and dispose of dog waste
  • Administering medication if required.

You will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience within the day care. You will learn how to interact and care for dogs of all breeds and ages.

Desired Qualifications

  • Maths and English GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C/4 or above is desired but not essential.
  • Applicants must not already hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in the animal care sector to be eligible for this apprenticeship.

Training 

  • Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
  • The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 animal care apprenticeship.
  • The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on-site visit throughout the apprenticeship.
  • The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
