About this opportunity:

M. E. Fox offers gardening and site maintenance for large commercial new build sites, smaller commercial jobs and private work. Elliot has trained many people in the past and is now seeking an apprentice!

We are looking for a new apprentice to join our team for this varied and exciting role.

Duties will include but not limited to;

  • Lawn cutting and treatments
  • hedge cutting
  • edge trimming
  • weeding
  • planting
  • laying bark
  • sweeping
  • sites are always left clean and tidy at the end of each day
  • Pruning and shaping, plant maintenance
  • Soft Landscaping
  • Microbore irrigation
  • Pruning and gutter clearing

As the apprentice continues to develop, more higher tier tasks can be completed/trained.

  • some previous gardening experience preferred

Desired Qualifications

  • Applicants must not already hold a level 2 or higher in Horticulture and Landscape

Future Progression

  • On completion of the apprenticeship, there may be a chance for a full time role for the right candidate if a position arises.

Training

  • Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
  • The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship
  • The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
  • The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
  • You will also need to achieve Level 3 award in Emergency First Aid at Work and Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance or Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides before undertaking the End Point Assessment.

  • KEITS Training Services Ltd reserves the right to close the vacancy earlier than the listed closing date should the need arise and also extend the vacancy should the need arise as well.
  • The apprentice will be working to build a portfolio of evidence and will be required to pass a knowledge test and an End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete the apprenticeship.
  • Due to the popularity of our apprenticeships applicants may not hear if unsuccessful.
