About this opportunity:

Justine has been a top producer of show horses for over 20 years and has won some of the biggest accolades in the sport. She is a highly regarded rider, trainer and competitor. Just riding offer a wide range of services, from beginners riding lessons to elite showing production. The new apprentice will join a friendly team and be involved in all aspects of horse care.

This is an exciting opportunity to learn from one of the country’s top show producers learning all the skills you would need for a successful career in the equine industry whilst gaining a level 2 in horse care. But if you already hold a level 2, a level 3 may be considered for the right person.

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Turning in and out of horses
  • Morning muck outs
  • Grooming
  • Field chores
  • Yard chores
  • Tack cleaning
  • Clipping
  • Exercising horses

Desired skills and qualities

  • Previous horse handling experience a must and details must be shown on application

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent in Maths and English desired but not essential.
  • Applicants ideally must not already hold a level 2 or higher in Horse Care.
  • If you already hold a level 2, a level 3 may be considered.

Future prospects

  • On completion you will have all the skills required for a full time position in the equine industry.
  • Yard Manager / Senior Equine Groom

Training

  • Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
  • The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship
  • The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
