Landscape Operative Apprentice

About this opportunity:

ATM are an Award winning Vegetation Management, Fencing, Landscaping and Ecology contractor. They are UK’s leading landscaping, highway maintenance, fencing, and vegetation management/maintenance contractors. They are recruiting for new member of staff to join the operations team who will then work towards Level 2 in Horticulture with KEITS Training Services. They are seeking an individual who can work efficiently to carry out scheduled workings on a variety of sites. Please be aware applicants must be 18 or over due to the nature of this job and working on highways. This is a fantastic opportunity to access new qualifications and skills in an exciting working environment.

Duties will include but not limited to;

  • Key member of the site clearance/maintenance field teams
  • Completing a range of vegetation management tasks for key contracts
  • Ensuring a high-quality service and effective delivery is always achieved
  • Strimming, use of chainsaw, chemical spraying

Hours:

  • Monday – Thursday, 7am – 5pm
  • Friday, 7am – 4pm
  • Overtime worked on weekends and night shifts – paid at time and half

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE’s, or equivalents in maths and English are desired but not essential
  • Driving license is ESSENTIAL
  • Applicants MUST BE 18 or over due to working on highways.

Future prospects

  • This position could have the possibility of becoming permanent for the right person.
  • Stay on and progress into skilled operative. Work way up to team leader

Training: 

  • Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
  • The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Landscape Operative Apprenticeship.
  • The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
  • The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
  • You will also need to achieve Level 3 award in Emergency First Aid at Work and Abrasive Wheel Training
  • ATM will also put through courses such as CSCS card, ROLO, First Aid + Forestry, Safety Critical Medical, Strimmer ticket, Chainsaw ticket, Woodchipper ticket, Spraying ticket, Brush cutter ticket and more!
