Canine enrichment is all about providing activities and environments that look after your dog’s physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Doggy lovers, we’re on the hunt for a new team member to join our paw-some pack. We’re officially licensed by Chelmsford Council, making us the top dog daycare destination in Billericay and beyond! Now, here’s the scoop on the job. You’ll be supporting the manager with day-to-day operations, duties will include but not limited to;

  • greeting dogs as they arrive
  • entertaining dogs in a safe and engaging way
  • keeping things tidy & clean,
  • supporting other staff in getting activities ready
  • doing training with a group of dogs.

Desired Skills & Qualities

  • Some previous kennel or dog experience desirable
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Good time keeping
  • Passionate about working with dogs
  • An innovative and out-of-the-box mindset, eager to help move the business forward.

Desired Qualification

  • No specific qualifications required but a good all round education preferred with Maths and English GCSE’s, or equivalents, as a minimum.
  • Applicants MUST NOT already hold a level 2 or higher in animal care to be eligible.

Future Progression

  • Most of our learners stay if they have reached the desired development. If they do not, they usually go on to do grooming or vet nursing.

Training 

  • The apprentice will be working to build a portfolio of evidence and will be required to pass a knowledge test and an End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete the apprenticeship.
  • All training will take place at the work location and the applicant will complete an animal care apprenticeship in full.

  • Paws Indoors Southend is a 5 minute walk from Southend Victoria Station and 5 minutes from Southend high street.
  • As there is an element of customer facing within this role we expect your appearance & uniform to represent the professionalism of our business.
  • This is a fast paced job role so be prepared to be on your feet.
