About this opportunity:

This is a vacancy at an International event yard with horses ranging from 3 years old to 5* event horses. Andrew is a top event rider with a lovely string of horses with his top horse aiming for Badminton 2023! Jobs will include all yard duties, riding and event opportunities and the chance to bring your own horse!

A fantastic opportunity to work on a busy and fun competition yard with a lot of opportunities to learn the skills needed for a career in the industry.

Yard duties will include but not limited to:

  • Turning out and bringing in
  • Mucking out
  • Feeding, watering and haying
  • Grooming
  • Clipping and trimming
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the yard at all times
  • Bandaging
  • Tacking up
  • Lunging/long rein
  • Riding/hacking
  • Attending shows/events

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, hard-working team. Within the role, the successful candidate will be working towards a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Horse Care. If you already hold a level 2 the employer is happy to consider a Level 3. Further training and employment available for the right candidate is available.

Training

  • Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
  • The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship or higher.
  • The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
