Equine Groom Apprentice
(T S Sport Horses & Training)

A fantastic opportunity to learn the skill required to start a career in the equine industry.

Duties will include but not limited to;

• muck out
• prepare feeds,
• sweep the yard
• tidy the muck heap
• clean tack
• groom horses and wash tails etc.

All of these tasks will be under instruction until you are competent to work alone.  There will be opportunities to ride if you are confident to do so.  You will receive thorough training on all aspects of equestrian yard work.  You should wear suitable clothing and PPE must be adhered to.

There will also be opportunities to complete BHS exams alongside other students.

Desired Qualifications

• Ideally some pony club test or previous equine experience would be helpful.

Future prospects

• Possibility of full time work at the end of training or assistance in finding a good position.

Training Provided

• Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment. The applicant will be working towards and
• gain a Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship.
• The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
• The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
• Training towards BHS Stage Exams and Ride Safe.
